Program Overview
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services through the Northwest Regional Education Service District supports twenty local school districts in providing educational services to students with the educational eligibility of ASD throughout four counties; Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook, and Washington. Service begins at the time the student is identified as eligible and can continue through the age of 21 or upon high school graduation. The NWRESD services for students with Autism include assesment/evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services as well as consultation, monitoring, and training by Autism Specialists to teachers, assistants, and parents.
Mission
It is our goal that our website will provide assistance and support to teachers, school staff, and parents of students with ASD who are seeking to increase their knowledge base on the topic of ASD. In addition, we aim to provide resources, tips, and examples of methods considered to best practice to assist students with ASD to be more successful and independent in the home, classroom, and community.
